PACKAGING AND SERVICE MATERIALS
To effectively reduce our environmental impact and make a real effort to reduce the amount of plastic waste produced, we are gradually replacing plastic materials with alternatives like recycled PET, PLA and FSC-certified paper from sustainable forests.
All our products are made in accordance with the UNI EN 13432 standard.
SAES Coated Films
Innovative recyclable packaging for 1 kg chocolate bags, certified exclusively for Venchi. The coating of the see-through film captures oxygen, keeping the product fresh before opening.
Food&Beverage
All the Food and Beverage service materials used in our stores have been replaced with 100% compostable alternatives, including sugar cane fibre, PLA, MATER-BI and FSC-certified paper.
Shipping
We ship all orders placed at venchi.com in packaging made exclusively from renewable, recyclable, plastic-free and FSC-certified materials.
Packaging
We are gradually introducing naturally sustainable materials to package our products: cotton ribbons, packs and inner material made from FSC-certified paper, and aluminium chocolate wrappers.
To help protect the environment, check the packaging for its composition and consult the table to see how you can recycle it correctly.
SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY
Piedmont Hazelnut Supply Chain
In 2020, Venchi and a number of hazelnut growers operating in the Langhe area formed a new partnership with three key objectives: better quality, sustainability and promoting local produce. To guarantee the best quality while ensuring that the produce remains fully traceable, even during processing, the hazelnuts are always shelled and selected in the Langhe area, thus resulting in a short, controlled and sustainable supply chain.
Rainforest Alliance
We ensure that every stage of the cocoa-supply chain—from plantation to processing—meets the the highest standards of quality and we work with local cocoa producers and distributors through collaborative projects.
To date, 70% of our chocolate recipes have earned Rainforest Alliance certification. Our goal is to have all our cocoa certified by 2025.
ENERGY SAVING AND DIVERSIFICATION
In 2021, the amount of electricity used by our production facility fell by 50% compared to 2019 despite a 15% increase in the amount of chocolate we produced. This was possible thanks to the co-financing of the ROP Piemonte ERDF 2014-2020, which allowed us to make significant investments that have made us more efficient. Other investments include:

To meet growing demand in an efficient way, a second photovoltaic system was installed and a major electrical-efficiency project concerning the cooling systems used for production and in the warehouses was completed.
Effective water-resource management enables us to reduce our consumption through the use of closed-circuit cooling systems, flow regulators and rainwater recovery and collection systems within the industrial facility.
In compliance with ecological and environmental regulations, our industrial operations do not generate polluting and hazardous waste and our production cycles do not emit substances harmful to the environment into the atmosphere.
